Another way to support us is to shout out about us on social media or give us a rating on your podcatcher service of choice. The more people who listen to the show, the more shows we can do.

Show Notes

Since we’d talked about them so much, we thought that we’d start a few episodes on those mini consoles. Since I’d been writing about them recently, I thought that we should do an episode or two on them.

in case you’re wanting to read what I had to say about them, click here for those blog posts

We’d also brought up the concept of mini consoles with Chief in a recent episode. That segment may or may not have prompted this discussion.

In this first episode, I gave Squidge a challenge:

Jay's Avatar Jay

Imagine that you have an unlimited budget (to deal with licensing issues), go through the games on the Mega Drive Mini and replace the ones that you’ll never play with ones from your dream line up

And that’s precisely what we did. We each went away, looked at the line up of the games on the UK Mega Drive Mini, listed the ones we wouldn’t want, and came up with a list of replacements. The only caveat being that I didn’t see Squidge’s list before we recorded, but he saw mine.

I’m not going to lie, the idea for this episode was totally influenced by Arcade Attack’s episode on the same subject

here’s a link to that episode - from May 2018

but I think you’ll agree that our dream line-ups differ.

But before we got started on the actual game swappage

that’s a word, right?

we discussed the hardware in the Mega Drive, and how it was just a re-dressed Amiga.

In a slight break from the norm, the rest of the show notes will be the list of games that we swapped out during this episode.
