Another way to support us is to shout out about us on social media or give us a rating on your podcatcher service of choice. The more people who listen to the show, the more shows we can do.

A new episode of the Waffling Taylors podcast is finally here!

It’s been a while

We’re still around and still making podcasts, trust us.

Show Notes

In this episode we chatted with Stephen Smith; he’s the main organiser behind the Leeds based Retro Events. We interviewed him at the recent Retro Games Fair event in Leeds

we’ve already posted our thoughts on that event here

It was a great interview to run, the first that I’ve been involved in where I’m asking all of the questions.

We talk a little about the history of the events he has organised

He’s been running these events for 6 years!

The reaction from folks who attend - and how almost everyone has the same reaction, the first time that they spot something from their childhood - allowing a safe place for folks to hang out and make friends; and even blind dates.

you’ll find out when you listen to the episode

I go into it in the episode, but I made a rookie mistake by using untested field recording equipment when I recorded the interview portion. This meant that the audio came out really bad. I spent some time fixing the audio, and some amazing people even stepped up and offered their time to try and fix the episode.

shout out to Joe Zack from the CodingBlocks podcast for helping out

I’m not an audio engineer, but I definitely feel as though what I’ve produced is a lot better than the original.

Note to self: never do that again. Unless you like editing audio in hard mode.

I’m going to post a transcription of the interview in a later post, anyway. But you should definitely give this episode a listen, as I drop some information on upcoming stuff that we’re planning.
